Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation and is a SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual since the time she turned nine. The ability which helped her obtain her first job as an Univision Production Assistant in Miami. There, she worked with the producers of television shows that were national, like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her first job was as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009 she relocated to Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. In reporting on news stories about drugs and immigration issues across the border of Mexico and Texas. Border, she worked as an anchor for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5 pm, a news reporter on English at 9 pm and after which she became a news anchor until 10 pm, and then returned on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. She also filled in for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She was a reporter for all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor herself. Then, she became the sports host for the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. She worked in the same role as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents are originally native to Veracruz Mexico. At some point they relocated from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She is younger than her sister. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. After a while the family split up, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she had a very clear vision of her career goals. She visited Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. Then, she fell in love with the university. And they offered her the opportunity to study a major. She graduated from high school and was enrolled in media studies at the University. Mark Bergmann - her professor and manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence encouraged her. She in turn, tried to meet his standards and not fail him.
